Profile

One of the best ways for experienced high school and college players to learn more about the field hockey and develop their skills is through coaching. In our rec and summer programs, our student coaches help teach skills and concepts they themselves have learned (or are learning) to athletes that are often new to the sport. By challenging our coaches to find creative and engaging ways to teach skills to a new generation of players, they are not only only developing their leadership and communication skills but also learning field hockey from a coaching and strategic lens.

A special thank to all our other student coaches who have stepped in to help with our rec and summer programs.

  • Natasha Parker (2024) – Stone Ridge School (Washington Wolves)

A senior captain on the Stone Ridge varsity field hockey team. Committed to play Division 3 field hockey at MIT, Natasha has been one of our rec coaches and coordinators for the past 3 years. She not only coaches our youngest age groups (and arguably the scariest one for most coaches) but she also helps coordinate our summer programs and steps into a leadership role when needed as our longest serving student coach.

  • Emma Datch (2024) – Churchill High School (Washington Wolves)

Emma is a senior captain on the varsity team at Churchill High School. Committed to play Division I field hockey at Davidson College this fall, Emma is one of our most experienced youth coaches on our staff and has run her own summer camps with one of her teammates for the past 3 years. She works with primarily with our U10 and U12 age groups.

  • Oona Buckley (2024) – Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (Next Level)

Oona joined our rec coaching staff last year and had an immediate impact with our young players. A senior captain on the BCC varsity field hockey team, she is committed to play Division I field hockey at UC Davis this fall. Oona comes with a lot of experience working with small groups of young players in her community. She works primarily with our U12 and U14 age groups.

  • Steve Zonarich (2024) – Stone Ridge School (Washington Wolves)

Stevie is a junior on the Stone Ridge varsity field hockey team. Committed to play Division 1 field hockey at Fairfield University, she has been a coach assistant at our youth summer camps for the past two years, before transitioning to one of our rec coaches this past winter. Stevie works with our youngest age groups and has quickly become one of our rec coaches. She is currently works wit our youngest age groups, where has quickly become one of the favorites.
