U16 Team

The U16 team is in a rebuilding year this season, with more than half the team aging up from the U14 division (with a few players still in 8th grade, including our two amazing goalies). As they continue develop their identity as a team and become more comfortable using their voices, they will find their rhythm and emerge as a very solid and competitive team. The girls come from different schools, backgrounds and field hockey journeys, but they continue to grow together as a unit.

This fall, most of our players competed for their middle school and high school teams, and we are so proud of all the contributions they made on their teams. Following their fall seasons, they came back together to compete at the Shooting Star Thanksgiving tournament in November before beginning their indoor season as a new team. They attended the National Indoor Tournament Qualifiers as well as a few local indoor tournaments before traveling to the Sunshine Showcase in Orlando, Florida at the end of January. After a strong showing at the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Club Championship, the U16s the traveled to the National Indoor Tournament at the beginning of March where they finished second in the Vancouver Pool before advancing to the Tier 2 Bravery Pool. The team then traveled to Delaware to compete at the Shooting Star Showdown tournament in April before coming back to compete in the U19 division of a local league where they finished 3rd. The team then wrapped up their season with a trip to the Region 7 Club Championships. Although it did not end the way we hope it would, they had a strong showing and showed a tremendous amount of individual and team growth this spring. Go Wolves!!!!
